Copy Multi-Value Fields from Placements to Candidates

Automations

Bullhorn Automation now supports copying multi-value fields from Placement and Submission records to Candidate profiles, enabling automated updates of Skills, Specialties, Categories, and Industries data.

What's new?

Bullhorn Automation now allows you to copy multi-value fields—including Skills, Specialties, Categories, and Industries—from active Placement or Submission records directly to associated Candidate records using the Update Candidate step with the Copy a Field Value operator. Previously, this functionality was limited to single-value fields, preventing automated transfer of critical taxonomic data from Placement records to Candidate profiles.

This capability is available on the Update Candidate step in Submission and Placement based automations. When copying data from Placements to Candidates, you'll need to select the appropriate data source options: Job Category, Skill, Speciality, or Business Sector.

Why does it matter?

This enhancement delivers significant operational benefits:

  • Eliminates manual data entry: Recruiters and operations teams no longer need to manually transfer skill and specialty data from Placement records to Candidate profiles, reducing time-consuming and error-prone processes.

  • Improves data accuracy and consistency: Automated field copying ensures candidate databases stay current and enriched as placements are made, without manual intervention or risk of data gaps.

  • Enhances talent pool searchability: Consistently maintained multi-value fields strengthen candidate profile quality, improving match quality and making it easier to find the right talent for new opportunities.

  • Supports data hygiene: Maintaining accurate, complete candidate data creates a stronger foundation for driving more placements from your existing talent pool.
